TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Retail sales fell 1.9 pct year-on-year in June after declining by 3.2 pct in May, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said.
The ministry provided the following June year-on-year data:
Department store sales - up 2.1 pct
Supermarket sales - down - 4.8 pct
Food and beverage sales - down 0.6 pct
Clothing sales - down 0.8 pct
Others - down 5.2 pct
